Does Mario come out to me?
Yes. Mario works all over Belgium and comes to wherever the party is, at home, in a hall or out on a field.
What exactly are arrosticini?
Small skewers of finely cut meat, grilled over a narrow tray of glowing charcoal. They come from Abruzzo, the region Mario's roots are in. Nothing goes on them but salt, the fire does the rest.
What is included?
Fresh bread and homemade spicy olive oil, the fornacella with charcoal and all the equipment, the travel out to you, Mario himself at the grill all evening, and the clearing up afterwards. The arrosticini themselves come on top of that and depend on which kinds and how many you order.
How many arrosticini should I count on per person?
It depends on whether they are the nibble with the aperitif or the main event, and on what else is on the table. Tell Mario how many of you there are and what it should become when you ask for your quote, and he works the numbers out with you. Ordering too few is the one real mistake you can make.
Can we combine several kinds?
That is exactly what most people do. Lamb as the base, chicken for anyone who wants it milder, some Angus and a batch of vegetarian. You note what you think you need in your request and Mario helps you get the proportions right.
Is there a vegetarian option?
Yes, vegetable arrosticini, off the same grill and made with the same care. Let Mario know how many vegetarians you are expecting when you ask for your quote and he will allow for it.
What about allergies?
Nothing goes on the meat but salt. The bread that comes with it contains gluten and the olive oil is spicy. If anyone has an allergy, put it in the extra information box with your request and Mario will go through it with you.
Does Mario stay all evening?
Yes. He works the grill himself for as long as the party lasts and clears his things away afterwards. You do not have to lift a finger.
What does it cost?
There are no fixed prices on the site, because no two parties are the same. It depends on how many of you there are, where it is and what exactly you want. Ask for a quote with no obligation and Mario comes back with a price made to measure.
